Community Asked to Help Find Missing Egg Harbor Township Man

Our community is coming together to help locate a missing Egg Harbor Township resident who left his home Friday afternoon.

Joel Medina, who is autistic, ran away from his residence in the area of 4th Avenue behind Harbor Square, the site of the former Shore Mall off West Jersey Avenue. The Egg Harbor Township Police Department issued an alert Friday afternoon around 3:30 p.m., asking residents to be on the lookout.

Local authorities believe Medina is still within the immediate area where he was last seen, making community vigilance especially important in bringing him home safely.

Description and Last Known Details

Medina stands 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 156 pounds. He has black hair, dark eyes, and a medium skin tone. When he left his home, he was wearing black shorts, a black t-shirt, and sandals.

Given that Medina is autistic, police are particularly concerned about his wellbeing and are urging anyone who may have seen him or has information about his whereabouts to come forward immediately.

How You Can Help

If you have seen Joel Medina or have any information that could help locate him, please contact the Egg Harbor Township Police Department immediately at (609) 927-5200. You can also reach the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-THE-LOST.

Time is of the essence in missing person cases, especially when vulnerable individuals are involved. Even a small detail could make a significant difference in reuniting Medina with his family. Our community has shown time and again that we look out for one another, and this situation is no different.

Residents in the Harbor Square and 4th Avenue area are encouraged to check their properties, including sheds, garages, and other outbuildings where someone seeking shelter might go.
