Five Jersey Shore Beaches Make National Top 100 List

There's something magical about the Jersey Shore that those of us who grew up here have always known. The salt air, the rhythm of the waves, the way summer memories seem to linger a little longer here than anywhere else. Now, the rest of the country is catching on.

According to the 2026 Best Beach Index from HomeToGo, five New Jersey beaches have earned spots on the list of the top 100 spring and summer beach destinations in America. Our Shore communities are standing tall alongside coastal destinations from across the nation.

The Rankings

Leading the way is Brant Beach, which claimed the number 13 spot overall. Not far behind, Monmouth Beach secured position number 20. Diamond Beach, a quieter gem that many locals cherish for its peaceful atmosphere, came in at number 54.

Rounding out our representation were Point Pleasant Beach at number 78 and Bradley Beach at number 83. Each of these communities brings its own character to the Shore experience, from family-friendly boardwalks to serene stretches of sand.

What Made the Cut

The rankings weren't arbitrary. HomeToGo evaluated destinations based on several key factors: affordability, search demand, travel distance, weather conditions, and visitor satisfaction. Temperature data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration also played a role in determining each beach's score.

This comprehensive approach means our beaches didn't just win on nostalgia or local pride. They genuinely deliver on the metrics that matter to beachgoers: good weather, reasonable prices, and experiences that keep people coming back year after year.

The Shore's Timeless Appeal

For generations of New Jersey families, the Shore has been more than just a vacation destination. It's where kids learn to bodysurf, where teenagers have their first taste of independence on the boardwalk, and where parents rediscover the simple pleasure of watching the ocean.

From Ocean City's family-friendly atmosphere to the nostalgic charm of Wildwood's retro motels and free beaches, from Cape May's Victorian elegance in the quieter fall months to the accessible fun that makes Shore memories possible for families on any budget, our coastline offers something for everyone.

What makes the Jersey Shore special isn't just the sand and surf. It's the way time seems to slow down here. It's the ritual of the beach badge check, the taste of boardwalk pizza, the sound of gulls mixing with distant music from the rides. It's the tradition of it all, passed down from one generation to the next.

While some might be surprised to see our beaches ranked so highly on a national list, those of us who call New Jersey home have always known the truth: the Jersey Shore holds its own against any coastline in the country. These rankings simply confirm what we've been saying all along.
