Armed Man Arrested at Trump Golf Club Before Fundraiser

A heavily armed individual was taken into custody at Trump National Golf Club in California after federal agents observed him conducting what authorities described as surveillance of security preparations ahead of a high-profile Republican fundraiser.

Jeanine John Taele was apprehended on Sunday after plainclothes federal agents spotted him photographing the premises and walking the golf course grounds, according to multiple outlets reported by TMZ.com. President Donald Trump is scheduled to headline a Republican National Committee fundraising dinner at the venue on Tuesday night.

When L.A. County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to the scene, they discovered a loaded magazine in Taele's pocket. A subsequent search of his vehicle in the golf course parking lot uncovered a loaded pistol and additional ammunition.

The investigation expanded on Monday when authorities executed a search warrant at Taele's residence. The search yielded an extensive weapons cache, including an illegally modified AR platform rifle, a .45-caliber pistol, body armor, high-capacity magazines, and additional ammunition.

Taele faces charges of carrying a concealed firearm and possessing prohibited ammunition. The arrest comes as security concerns intensify around presidential appearances and political fundraising events.

The timing of the incident has raised questions about security protocols at venues hosting presidential visits. Federal agents were already conducting advance security operations when they encountered Taele, suggesting heightened protective measures were already in place for the upcoming fundraiser.
