Vivienne Jolie-Pitt Files to Drop Father's Surname

Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt, the 18-year-old daughter of actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, has filed legal documents seeking to remove her father's surname from her name, according to court records obtained by TMZ.

The petition requests a legal name change to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie. Court filings cite the reason for the modification as "personal," offering no further explanation for the decision.

This legal action marks the fourth such filing among the six children of the former Hollywood couple. Shiloh Jolie-Pitt successfully completed her petition to drop the Pitt surname, filing just three days after turning 18. Two other siblings, Zahara and Maddox, have pursued similar legal changes, seeking to be known as Zahara Marley Jolie and Maddox Chivan Jolie.

Vivienne has already adopted the shortened surname in professional settings. When she worked as a producer alongside her mother on the Broadway show "The Outsiders," the production's Playbill credited her as "Vivienne Jolie."

Sources close to Brad Pitt told TMZ they believe Angelina Jolie has caused the rift between Brad Pitt and the children, and characterized Vivienne's filing as the latest chapter in what they describe as a very sad, never-ending campaign to alienate the children from their father.

The former couple finalized their divorce in late 2024 following years of contentious litigation. Despite the concluded divorce proceedings, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie continue to battle in court over Château Miraval, a French wine estate they acquired during their marriage.

Vivienne has a twin brother, Knox. The twins represent the youngest members of the six-child family.

PEOPLE magazine was first to report the news of Vivienne's petition.
