Vanessa Trump Announces Breast Cancer Diagnosis at 48

Vanessa Trump has publicly disclosed a breast cancer diagnosis, sharing the news with followers on Wednesday, May 20, through a statement posted on Instagram. The 48-year-old mother of five expressed both resolve and gratitude as she embarks on treatment for the disease.

"While this isn't news anyone expects, I'm working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan," Trump wrote in her statement. "I would like to thank my doctors for performing a procedure earlier this week on me. I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me."

The announcement marks a significant personal challenge for Trump, who has maintained a relatively private life in recent years. Her statement emphasized the importance of family support during this difficult period, particularly noting the role of her five children in providing strength and encouragement.

Trump shares her children—Kai, Donald III, Tristan, Spencer, and Chloe—with ex-husband Donald Trump Jr. The former couple married in 2005 and divorced in 2018 after 13 years of marriage. Despite their separation, family connections remain strong, as evidenced by the outpouring of support following her announcement.

Among those offering public support was Ivanka Trump, daughter of President Donald Trump and the late Ivana Trump, who commented on the Instagram post. "Praying for your continued strength and a swift recovery. Love you mama," Ivanka Trump wrote to her former sister-in-law, demonstrating the enduring bonds within the extended family.

In her statement, Trump acknowledged the overwhelming response from well-wishers, noting that their kind words and support "truly means more than I can express." She concluded by requesting privacy as she focuses on her "health and recovery," a common request from public figures facing serious medical challenges.

The diagnosis comes during a period of personal happiness for Trump, who has been in a relationship with golf legend Tiger Woods since late 2024. The couple made their relationship public in February 2025, with Woods expressing his affection through social media posts. "Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side!" Woods, 50, wrote on Instagram last March. "We look forward to our journey through life together."

According to The Daily Mail, the couple's connection developed through their children, who attend the same school. Woods shares daughter Sam, 17, and son Charlie, 16, with ex-wife Elin Nordegren, to whom he was married from 2004 to 2010.

Recent reports from People on Sunday, May 17, indicated that Woods and Trump remain "still very much in love" following Woods' return home to Jupiter, Florida, after completing a six-week inpatient treatment program in Switzerland. Woods had entered treatment following a DUI car crash in March, for which he pleaded not guilty to charges of misdemeanor DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test. A source described the couple as "happy to see each other" upon his return.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump Jr., 48, has also moved forward in his personal life. He is engaged to socialite Bettina Anderson, whom he has been dating since mid-2024. President Trump announced the engagement at the White House in December 2025, according to a video published by Laura Loomer on X.

"I'm not usually at a loss for words, because I'm usually doing the ranting and raving really well," Donald Trump Jr. said during the announcement. "I want to thank Bettina for that one word: 'Yes.'"

Breast cancer remains one of the most common cancers affecting women, with early detection and treatment significantly improving outcomes. Trump's decision to share her diagnosis publicly may help raise awareness about the importance of regular screenings and medical care. As she begins her treatment journey, the focus now turns to her recovery and the support system surrounding her during this challenging time.
