Streamer DeenTheGreat Pleads Not Guilty to Miami Yacht Robbery Charge

A prominent social media influencer has formally pleaded not guilty to attempted robbery charges following an arrest in Miami that has drawn significant attention to the streaming community. Nurideen Shabazz, who operates under the online persona DeenTheGreat, entered a written plea of not guilty to a felony charge of robbery/strongarm/attempt, according to court documents.

The charges follow an arrest on Wednesday morning after law enforcement officers responded to a dispute on a yacht in Miami. According to the police report, a woman named Destiny Aleman reported that Shabazz became upset because other men were talking to her despite his warning her not to entertain anyone else.

Aleman told police that Shabazz kicked her off the yacht before grabbing her forearm and attempting to snatch her phone, leaving a scratch on her arm. The police report indicates that Ring camera footage from the property captured Shabazz yelling for someone to grab the woman's phone and ensure she was not recording him. The footage reportedly shows Aleman curled up on the ground protecting her phone before eventually breaking free.

The court filing demanding a jury trial also requests discovery from prosecutors, signaling the defense's intention to thoroughly examine the evidence in the case. Shabazz's attorney, Richard Cooper, issued a statement defending his client and characterizing the situation as part of a broader pattern of exploitation.

"Mr. Shabazz has had a target on his back for some time now by people wishing to make a name for themselves off of his hard work," Cooper stated. "The facts are incomplete so far and we ask for patience. We expect the legal process—not social media commentary or clout-chasing—to determine the outcome."

The case highlights the complex intersection of social media influence and legal accountability, particularly as content creators navigate disputes that occur both online and in physical spaces. The attempted robbery charge carries serious legal implications, and the demand for a jury trial suggests the defense is prepared for a potentially lengthy legal battle.

As the case proceeds through the Miami court system, the outcome will likely be closely watched by both the influencer community and those concerned with how law enforcement handles disputes involving prominent online personalities. The discovery process will provide both sides an opportunity to examine the evidence, including the Ring camera footage that authorities cite as supporting the allegations.
