Steve-O Discusses Bam Margera's Sobriety and Jackass Future

Steve-O expressed both support and candid expectations for Bam Margera during an appearance on The TMZ Podcast on Thursday, addressing his former Jackass colleague's ongoing sobriety journey and absence from recent franchise events.

The entertainer sat down with TMZ to discuss his feelings about Margera's recovery and what he believes his costar should acknowledge now that he has achieved better health. While Steve-O emphasized his affection for Margera, he suggested that accepting responsibility for past actions would represent meaningful progress.

Margera did not attend the Wednesday night premiere of Jackass: Best and Last, citing a scheduling conflict. However, the absence also reflected his continued reluctance to face Johnny Knoxville and director Jeff Tremaine following his termination from the franchise in 2020. The firing stemmed from concerns about Margera's ability to maintain sobriety during production.

Steve-O indicated that while he harbors no ill will toward Margera, certain acknowledgments remain unspoken. The performer noted that he would welcome such statements as part of Margera's continued recovery process.

Despite missing Margera at the premiere, Steve-O expressed appreciation for the attendance of Margera's parents, Phil and April, who represented their son at the event. Their presence underscored the family's ongoing connection to the Jackass community despite the professional complications of recent years.

During the podcast appearance, Steve-O also previewed content from the franchise's final film, describing a previously unseen stunt that he characterized as extraordinary even by Jackass standards. The performer suggested the sequence would challenge audience expectations for what the long-running series could accomplish.

Steve-O additionally appeared on TMZ Live earlier in the day, where he discussed various personal experiences with Harvey Levin and Charles Latibeaudiere. The conversations touched on challenges and successes throughout his career in entertainment.

The Jackass franchise, which began as a television series in 2000, has documented increasingly elaborate stunts and pranks performed by its core cast over more than two decades. Jackass: Best and Last represents the conclusion of the theatrical film series, marking the end of an era for the groundbreaking comedy collective.
