Rio Grande Man Charged After Motel Shooting

Our community was shaken this past Friday when a violent confrontation at a local motel resulted in serious injuries and the arrest of a Rio Grande man on attempted murder charges.

Officers responded to the Simpson Motel in the Rio Grande section of Middle Township around 12:56 p.m. Friday afternoon after receiving reports of a person with a gunshot injury. Upon arrival, they discovered a 25-year-old man who had been shot in the face. The victim was immediately transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, where he received treatment for his injuries.

According to investigators, 43-year-old Adam Radomski, of Rio Grande, confronted the victim shortly after the victim arrived at the motel. The confrontation quickly escalated, leading to the shooting that has now resulted in serious criminal charges.

Law enforcement moved swiftly to apprehend the suspect. Police located Radomski a short time later in Rio Grande and took him into custody without incident. During their investigation, authorities recovered a handgun, firearm accessories and parts, and other weapons, painting a picture of the severity of the situation.

Radomski now faces a litany of serious charges including attempted murder, aggravated assault, weapons offenses, and refusal to allow a biological sample to be drawn. He is currently being held at the Cape May County Correctional Facility as the investigation continues.

This incident serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of public safety in our community. While violent crimes of this nature remain relatively rare in Cape May County, each incident underscores the critical work our local law enforcement performs to keep residents and visitors safe.
