The emotional post arrives as Gayheart and her family continue to navigate life without Dane, who passed away on a Thursday afternoon in February at age 53. His family confirmed the death on February 19, releasing a statement that detailed his courageous fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
"With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS," the statement read. "He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world."
The family statement emphasized Dane's advocacy work during his illness, noting that he became passionate about raising awareness and supporting research for ALS.
