Reality television personality West Wilson revealed the difficulties of navigating public life amid intense scrutiny of his relationship with Amanda Batula, addressing a series of viral rumors during the Monday, May 25, episode of his podcast.
The 31-year-old Wilson spoke candidly on his "Show Me Something" podcast about the challenges he and Batula face as their relationship unfolds under public observation. The couple confirmed their romance in late March following Batula's separation from fellow Summer House cast member Kyle Cooke.
"Going out in public is kind of scary," Wilson admitted during the podcast episode. "There have been so many f***ing stupid f***ing posts on the internet. Once it got to AI ones and s***, I was like, 'OK, let's talk about these.'"
Wilson systematically addressed several circulating rumors, including claims that Batula, 34, has been wearing his clothing in public appearances. He refuted speculation about a striped shirt visible in a viral photograph, noting that the assertion reflects broader assumptions rather than factual observation.
"People do wear striped shirts," Wilson stated. "People just post anything, and it works. A lot of people have been like, 'She wears your clothes all the time.' We actually do dress the same."
The reality star also dismissed online speculation suggesting Batula has been wearing wigs during their public outings, characterizing such claims as baseless.
Wilson addressed additional false narratives, including a fabricated social media post claiming he discussed pursuing a Tom Sandoval redemption arc. He emphasized that his personal communications do not involve such topics and that the post represented entirely invented content.
"Knowing all my friends that I have a group chat with, they don't know who the f*** Tom Sandoval is," Wilson explained. "That is not what we talk about in our f***ing group text."
The podcast episode also addressed rumors involving Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Jenn Fessler. Earlier this month, claims circulated on social media suggesting a romantic encounter between Wilson and Fessler, allegations that Ciara Miller shared publicly. Miller previously dated Wilson in 2023 and maintained a close friendship with Batula prior to the current relationship.
Wilson acknowledged the situation while noting Fessler's strong denial of the claims. "Jenn was pissed. Jenn made a video being like, 'West is so nice. He's not trying to hurt anyone, blah blah blah blah blah,'" he recounted. "I don't think [Ciara would] make it up, but I'm sure she believes it. That's a crazy thing to just post."
Fessler addressed the matter directly via Instagram on May 9, characterizing the claims as defamatory. "In all seriousness, and while I can't help but be a little flattered, it is not nice nor is it OK to post something categorically untrue and defamatory on social media," she wrote. "Regardless of whatever rumors or apparent 'evidence' led you to that conclusion, that is the definition of libel."
The situation illustrates the broader challenges facing public figures as they navigate relationships amid social media speculation and artificially generated content. Wilson indicated that he and Batula are attempting to maintain normalcy despite the heightened public attention, though the volume of false information has created additional complications.
The relationship has attracted significant attention within reality television circles, particularly given the interconnected nature of the Summer House cast and the timeline of events surrounding Batula's separation from Cooke and her subsequent romance with Wilson.
