Pam Grier Discusses Aging and Intimacy at 76

Iconic actress Pam Grier delivered one of the most surprising celebrity interviews of the year during her appearance on the Wednesday, May 13 episode of the "Wiser Than Me" podcast, hosted by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The 76-year-old star of Jackie Brown and The L Word opened up about her active sex life in remarkably frank terms, challenging conventional assumptions about aging and intimacy.

During the podcast conversation, Grier made an extraordinary claim about how sexual experiences evolve with age. "When you're young, you can have three, four, five orgasms in an hour. But when you get [to be] my age, you have one orgasm and it'll last three days," Grier revealed to the 65-year-old Louis-Dreyfus.

The statement left Louis-Dreyfus audibly stunned. "What are you talking about?" the host asked. "Like, what are you doing down there to get a three-day orgasm? I need details."

Grier insisted that "you don't have to do anything," attributing the phenomenon simply to her age. When pressed for clarification about whether she had created a "three-day orgasm" or if the effects of sexual pleasure simply last longer at her age, Grier confirmed, "I think it's my age."

The actress offered advice to her younger host: "When it happens, I just want to tell you, you just be prepared. It's going to be three whole days." Louis-Dreyfus responded with humor, joking, "My god. Maybe when you're 90 it will be a whole week!"

Grier reflected on how such experiences might have changed her earlier life. "If I could have had that when I was younger, I would have had a better life and better boyfriends," she stated.

Broader Perspective on Aging

The candid discussion about sexuality emerged from a broader conversation about aging and maintaining vitality. Earlier in the podcast episode, Grier displayed her characteristic humor about growing older. "I might be 77 this year. I might be. I don't know," she joked. "If I wake up breathing, I'm going to have a good day."

This appearance represents a continuation of Grier's recent openness about her personal life. During an August 2025 appearance on the "Allison Interviews" podcast, she described herself as "horny as f***" and confirmed she was dating someone who had come "from another part of the world, the universe, to find me."

At that time, Grier expressed surprise at finding romance at her stage of life. "I never thought I would [feel this way], because when people find their person, it's a warm, fuzzy [feeling]," she said. "You don't know why, where, when, how... And when it [happened], I said, 'I can't believe it happened now.'"

She continued, "Just kind of from then on, I said, 'Wow, I know that is such a wonderful, incredible moment in my life.' I said, 'If I just get an hour with this person a day, it would be so cool.' Because for me, at this age, what will I offer?"

A Storied Romantic History

Grier's romantic life has long been a subject of public interest. During the 1970s, she had numerous high-profile relationships, including dating NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and late comedians Freddie Prinze and Richard Pryor. She was also linked to Soul Train host Don Cornelius and boxing promoter Jimmie "Big Wheel" Wheeler.

In 1998, Grier became engaged to record executive Kevin L. Evans, though the couple ended their relationship in 1999 without marrying.

The actress's willingness to discuss intimate aspects of aging challenges societal taboos around sexuality in older adults. Her candid approach on the "Wiser Than Me" podcast continues a tradition of breaking down barriers and speaking openly about topics often considered off-limits, particularly for women of her generation.
