Our shore community is preparing to welcome another summer season with open arms, and Ocean City has announced a full slate of events, discounts, and activities that promise to make 2026 memorable for residents and visitors alike.
The official kickoff arrives next week with the traditional "Unlocking of the Ocean" ceremony, scheduled for noon on Friday, May 22, on the beach at Ninth Street. This beloved ritual marks the symbolic opening of our summer season and leads directly into the Business Persons Plunge, where community members are invited to take the ceremonial first dip. Those interested in participating can find more information at ocnj.us/bizplunge.
Beach Tag Savings Still Available
If you haven't secured your beach tags yet, there's still time to save. Ocean City's preseason discount remains in effect through May 31, offering seasonal tags at $5 off the regular price. It's a small but meaningful savings for families planning to spend their summer days on our beautiful beaches. Purchase information is available at ocnj.us/beachtags.
Registration also continues for summer recreation programs, with details posted at ocnj.us/summer-recreation-programs. These programs have long been a cornerstone of Ocean City summers, providing structured activities and community connections for young people throughout the season.
Entertainment Lineup Takes Shape
Music lovers have plenty to look forward to this summer. Tickets are now on sale for the 2026 Ocean City Pops season, featuring a diverse array of performances. Schedule and ticket information can be found at oceancityvacation.com/boxoffice.
The 2026 Summer Concert Series at the Music Pier promises an impressive roster of talent. The a cappella group Straight No Chaser will open the series on June 29, followed by performances from artists including Bruce Hornsby and 10,000 Maniacs throughout July and August. Shows are scheduled for Monday or Tuesday nights, making it easy to plan your week around live music. Tickets and additional information are available at ocnj.us/SummerConcertSeries.
