Mount Sinai Reviews Physician's Connection to Jeffrey Epstein

Mount Sinai Health System has initiated a comprehensive review of information concerning a leading physician's connection to Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender. The investigation follows the recent release of documents detailing the relationship between Dr. Eva Andersson-Dubin and Epstein.

Dr. Andersson-Dubin, a renowned physician at Mount Sinai and former model, was featured prominently in the recently disclosed Epstein files. The documents reveal that she maintained contact with Epstein even after his 2008 conviction for soliciting and procuring a minor for prostitution.

A spokesperson for Mount Sinai Health System issued a statement condemning Epstein's actions. "Jeffrey Epstein's actions are abhorrent, reprehensible, and stand in direct opposition to what Mount Sinai believes in and stands for as an institution and as medical professionals," the spokesperson stated.

The hospital emphasized its commitment to patient care, noting that all individuals who seek treatment at Mount Sinai facilities receive the highest standard of care and respect. However, the institution declined to comment on clinical care provided to specific patients, citing privacy protocols.

According to the spokesperson, Mount Sinai has been carefully examining available information since the files became public. "We will continue to take any and all appropriate actions," the statement concluded.

Reports indicate that Dr. Andersson-Dubin had previously been romantically involved with Epstein and remained in his social circle following his conviction. Epstein reportedly referred to Dr. Andersson-Dubin's daughter, Celina, as his goddaughter. When Celina was 19 years old, Epstein allegedly told acquaintances he wished to marry her, though a family spokesperson stated the Dubin family was unaware of this remark.

Years after Epstein became a registered sex offender, Dr. Andersson-Dubin reportedly invited him to her Colorado residence while Celina was present hosting friends. Celina Dubin, now 30 years old, is herself a physician at Mount Sinai.

The ongoing review represents Mount Sinai's effort to address concerns about professional associations with individuals convicted of serious crimes. The health system has not provided a timeline for the completion of its investigation or specified what actions might result from its findings.
