Actress Heather McComb has married Scott Michael Campbell in an intimate ceremony held in Missoula, Montana, marking a new chapter following her previous marriage to the late actor James Van Der Beek.

McComb, 49, announced the nuptials via Instagram on Sunday, May 31, sharing details of the Saturday ceremony that took place in what she described as her favorite city. The wedding was officiated by her sister in a gathering that brought together family and friends from across the country.

"Yesterday @scottmichaelcampbell and I under the covenant of God got officially married by my beautiful sister @essence_says surround[ed] by the people we love most in the world in our most favorite city Missoula Montana," McComb wrote in her announcement. "Our hearts are full and humbled by all of the love that we were surrounded by. God is so good. Thank you to all of our family and friends who traveled from all over the country to be with us. Thank you Jesus the way maker miracle worker!"

The actress shared a series of photographs from the celebration, including images of herself and Campbell at the altar. The Montana ceremony represented a significant personal milestone for McComb, who expressed gratitude for the support of those who attended.

"You all made it so special and a truly magical weekend that we will never forget," she continued in her post. "We are sitting here counting our many blessings. Thank you to everyone who made this so special for us!"

McComb was previously married to James Van Der Beek from 2003 to 2010. Following their divorce, Van Der Beek married Kimberly Van Der Beek in 2010, with whom he welcomed six children. The actor passed away in February at age 48 after battling stage III colorectal cancer.

At the time of Van Der Beek's death, McComb shared an emotional tribute honoring her former husband and expressing support for his widow and children. She posted a black-and-white photograph from her 21st birthday, taken before Van Der Beek's breakout role on the television series Dawson's Creek had aired.

"This is how I will always see James innocent, kind and pure of heart," she wrote in February. "What a journey we shared over the years. I sit here in immense gratitude for the special connection, friendship and love that James and I shared that has endured through decades. I will treasure the last loving words we exchanged."

In that tribute, McComb also praised Kimberly Van Der Beek for the grace she demonstrated during her husband's illness. "I know that James loved being a father so much and oh how he loved Kimberly with his everything," McComb wrote. "True soulmates. How she showed up for him with such grace is so beautiful and something I will forever admire."

The Montana wedding represents a fresh beginning for McComb, who emphasized the spiritual significance of the ceremony and the importance of the community that gathered to celebrate with the couple. The choice of Missoula as the wedding location underscores the personal connection both she and Campbell have to the Montana city.
