Our community recently wrapped up another Girl Scout cookie season, with local troops setting up tables at familiar neighborhood spots to sell their beloved treats. While the official booth sales concluded earlier this month, the annual tradition once again brought neighbors together in support of youth development programs.
Girl Scouts established cookie booths at numerous locations across the greater Ocean City area, making it convenient for residents to stock up on Thin Mints, Samoas, and other classic varieties. The sales effort spanned multiple communities including Egg Harbor Township, Northfield, Pleasantville, and Somers Point.
In Egg Harbor Township, troops set up at high-traffic locations including the LIDL store on Fire Road, ShopRite of English Creek on Black Horse Pike, and Walmart's grocery entrance. Northfield residents found cookies at BF Mazzeo on New Road, Hot Bagel on Tilton Road, and Tilton Market.
Pleasantville shoppers encountered Girl Scouts at Sam's Club on Black Horse Pike, while Somers Point locations included Marco Manco on Bethel Road and Hot Bagel on New Road.
The annual cookie sales represent more than just a chance to satisfy sweet cravings. Revenue from cookie sales directly supports Girl Scout programming, helping fund camping trips, educational activities, community service projects, and leadership development opportunities for young women in our region.
For those who missed the booth sales, many local troops continue to accept orders directly. Residents interested in supporting Girl Scouts or learning more about troop activities can connect with Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, which serves communities throughout our area.
The Girl Scout cookie program has been a beloved tradition for generations, teaching young participants valuable skills in goal-setting, money management, customer service, and entrepreneurship while building confidence and community connections.
