Free Airshow Returns to Atlantic City

Our community is gearing up for an exciting last weekend of May as the Soar & Shore Airshow returns to Atlantic City for its second year. The free three-day event will transform our beaches and Boardwalk into a spectacular aviation showcase from May 29-31.

Visit Atlantic City and Herb Gillen Airshows announced Monday that the airshow will run from approximately noon to 3 p.m. each day, offering locals and visitors an unofficial kickoff to summer with world-class military aircraft demonstrations over the Atlantic City shoreline.

Headlining Aircraft and Performances

The initial lineup features some of the most advanced military aircraft in the world. Headliners include the United States Air Force F-22 Raptor, known for its unmatched maneuverability and stealth capabilities, alongside the U.S. Marine Corps F-35B Lightning II Demo Team, which showcases the cutting-edge fifth-generation fighter jet.

Additional performers include the USAF F-16C Fighting Falcons from the 177th Fighter Wing, the historic MiG 17F, Wolf Pitts Pro with Paul Bennet, Warbird Thunder, and Wingwalker Sam with Samantha Tryggvason. Organizers note the performance lineup is subject to change.

A New Summer Tradition

Gary Musich, president and CEO of Visit Atlantic City, emphasized the event's role in reimagining the city's traditional airshow. "Last year, we reimagined the Atlantic City Airshow into something that completely exceeded all expectations and we're excited to see how the Soar & Shore Airshow Presented by Visit Atlantic City thrives over new dates," Musich said.

By moving the event to May, organizers hope to create a memorable start to the summer season while highlighting everything that makes Atlantic City special—from the beaches and Boardwalk to local businesses, restaurants, and casino resorts.

Show producer Herb Gillen captured the excitement: "You would be hard pressed to find a more exciting kickoff to summer event anywhere than experiencing firsthand the world's most sophisticated aircraft soaring over the boardwalk and beaches of Atlantic City. We expect families from across the region to flock to the beach this May for this incredible and free show."

Ticket Information and Premium Seating

General admission remains completely free for all three days. For those seeking an enhanced experience, reserved premium seating in catered tents will be available in limited quantities.

Airshow Insights and Visit Atlantic City email subscribers get early access to premium tickets starting Saturday, March 28, at 8 a.m. General public sales begin March 31 through the show's website.

Exhibitor opportunities and corporate partnerships are also available for businesses interested in participating in this regional attraction that draws families from throughout the area.

Whether you're a longtime resident or planning a Memorial Day weekend getaway, the Soar & Shore Airshow promises an unforgettable celebration of aviation excellence right here in our backyard.
